Crazy Train to Colortown

I come from a long line of pale Swedes. I’m talkin’ the smattering-of- misplaced-freckles- sunburned-despite-45-SPF-face-flush-like-a-tomato-when-I take-the-stairs-at-work kind of pale. This being the case, you’d think I’d be obsessed with things like lipstick and colorful home décor. Not so much. I’m a chapstick and white lacquer kind of gal as you well know by now. However, I have a feeling that colorful shelves like these might add a refreshing dose of excitement to my life. Either that, or send me into a tailspin of crazy similar to Jack Nicholson’s character in The Shining. Hmmm, tough call.

Glam it Up

I'm a flip flop girl. Truly, I wear them every day to work, to shop, to dine. Okay not always to dine, but mostly. Comfort is my first mistress, but there's a small part of me that secretly dreams of adding a touch of glamour every now and again. If my bedroom looked this one though, I'm willing to bet my shoe options would be far greater!

It's In The Print

I love to mix and match prints while keeping colors complementary and I think this room is such a great example of how successful it can be. Not to mention, how great is the covered acrylic bench at the foot of the bed??

A Few of My Favorite Things...

I just loved the colors in this board and if I could do my pre-marriage pad all over again, I swear this is what it would look like. Pale blue and yellow simply make for a happy space, and that craft closet? I die. My husband doesn't know it, but I stare at his closet often, dreaming of how to overtake it.

Coming Up Poppies

I've always loved the combination of red and blue together. I am Swedish, after all. I also fell in love with this great fabric by Swanky Swell immediately and knew it warranted a board built around its prints and colors. I picture it in the form of pillows on an all-white couch, of course.
